Hi, I have been asked to sell off a lot of my companies old domain names, apparently they may be worth something. Some of them are fairly good, but the way people price domain names is a little random and I'm not sure what the best way to sell them is.
I've seen lot of people start threads about their domain names and try to encourage people to bid on them, but this seems like a lot of work and that the chances of finding someone with a genuine interest is rare. I have been looking at services like Sedo and Afternic. Has anyone tried out these with any success? Any advice gratefully received! |

You can sell your domains through Sedo and Afternic, but it can take ages before they are sold. I occasionaly sell some at Afternic.
If you are looking for a quick sale you can try dnforum.com, domainstate.com or sitepoint.com. Domains are often sold within a few hours to a couple of days, sometimes within minutes. I buy and sell a lot of domains on the first 2 sites. Don't expect end-user prices there though! Domains are sold and bought like candies over there by domain portfolio holders with thousands of domains each, like me. Or you can sell it at eBay. But that ain't my favorite. |

We have just started a new domain brokerage, www.DotComerica.com, where you can list at for free with no commission on sales. We have optional promotional services for more exposure. Also you can add bulk amounts pretty simply.
We don't have a million names, but this is a good thing if you don't want to be lost in the huge bulk of competitors for your names. If you want to sell the names for a low price, Afternic and Sedo's escrow and commissions can really bite into profits, but they get a lot of traffic. Domains get hidden unless you do some homepage featuring service. We know from experieince. Hope this helps. Good Day! LuAnn |

Try out forums.digitalpoint.com and sitepoint.com - these are both very busy forums with people looking for domain names.

The real truth about the domain names market is that it is very complex, that means some domain names because of the wordings are really great, and in many cases consisting of only a few words but yet people want to but them very cheap in most cases, on the other hand even the best domain name in the world, without a successful website and webmaster will not be anything valuable, nobody for sure can tell the exact price for each domain name.
