Before you link to any sitewide link webpage, MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE BACKLINKS AND CACHE of that webpage. Good source to check is Google, Yahoo, MSN and Alexa. Now if you could link sitewide to a blog or bookmark related site, the awards and benefits - couldn't fit in words ike wiki's.

I find that SITEWIDE LINKS ARE THE BEST to boost seo rankings dramatically - for pages older than 2 years min. If you have targeted a particular word you would like to rank 1st position, your chances are high especialliy if website is related %100 to (one or all) of the words.

If your clients site is only new I wouldn't go around getting sitewides just yet, it won't look natural and may raise some eyebrows. I would get a good mix of links from a variety of sources first before having a tonne of sitewides link into your clients site.

Thanks David. In my above question I was trying to figure out if sitewide links could possibly be damaging if they were for a site I developed for a client and I had a webmaster link at the footer of every page linking to my website.

Hi Blake, I'm not sure if I understand your question... if your wondering are say 1000 sitewides to a web design company and 1000 to a video production company are of the same value in Googles eyes I would say no, because I think G might have different thresholds for different industries.
